Salaam and welcome to Maha’s Musings (The Blog)! After much consideration, I’ve decided to start a blog. I’ll admit to being a bit nervous about this new endeavour but I realized I needed to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. Granted I’m not a writer, but I believe it’s never too late to start something new.
I want to start this blog for numerous reasons. The primary reason is that I want to share my experiences and knowledge with my fellow designers. In addition, I want to offer insight into the mind of a small business owner. I also want to demystify the design process for anybody interested in design. This blog will include the following categories:
DESIGN: This category will include works in progress, which include branding and graphic design projects. I’ll also include smaller projects and personal artistic endeavours.
BUSINESS: As a business of one, I am not only the designer, but I’m also the accountant, administrator and boss! I’ll go over certain aspects of how to run a business, what productivity tools I use and helpful tips and tricks. Basically, I want to help business owners by sharing my experiences, so they can avoid the same mistakes I made in the past.
BEHIND THE SCENES: This category will include updates and news about my business. I’ll also discuss the design process and what it takes to create my work.
KNOWLEDGE: I believe that learning is a lifelong endeavour and one must never stop learning. I’ll create tutorials and share my knowledge of design and business.
FAITH: This category is a bit more abstract, but I will discuss faith, goals, wellness, and work/life balance.
